Candidate Bio
I have been active in my GOP for many years. I have worked in healthcare for over 25 years and well acquainted with freezes and stagnant economy affects it has on long-term care.
What would be your top three priorities if elected?
How would you characterize the business climate in the East Metro and what role do businesses play in supporting quality of life issues in East Metro communities?
We must continue to give small businesses a leg up to flourish which is vital to the economy.
What role do you think the State should have in attracting and retaining jobs, and what steps would you take to solicit new businesses to and retain existing businesses in the East Metro?
Help existing businesses to stay in the community and give incentives to minority to start their own business.
Do you support any specific employment-related proposals (such as minimum wage, sick time, or mandatory scheduling notice)? If so, what steps would you take to understand the impact of an ordinance on the many types of businesses in the east metro and how would you define any exceptions to those policies?
Everyone who work should be qualified, trained and be productive. Wages should reflect their worth.
What is your strategy to address public safety, transportation, and housing issues?
Do not defunded the police!
Transportation for whom? Those who live in the metro or out of the cities?
For those who work near their home. With COVID-19 and the arise in violence, transportation has to be thoroughly evaluated.
Stop taxing people to pay for others housing as they become in need of housing too.
What are your priorities for the State’s budget? Are there any services currently provided by the State that you believe should be expanded, cut back or eliminated? Are there new opportunities to share services with other entities?
The Aftermath of COVID-19/Cost of rioter’s destruction will have to be considered.
What will you do to expand your district’s tax base?
Each district will have to propose for what they want and for their needs.
How will you work with K-12 and post-secondary educational institutions and businesses to ensure our region develops and retains an educated workforce?
Change how education is looked at. Provide trade and career incentives.
What is the role of the State in fostering increased minority- and women-owned businesses?
The cost is a major factor; pay out for employee’s benefits, states/ federal taxes, regulatory out ways any benefits of being an owner. These factors need to be revised.
What further policies can the State of Minnesota adopt to help the business community recover from the COVID-19 pandemic?
Let them open now before it is too late for them to exist!!
Is there anything else you would like to share with voters not covered above?
Under the watch of the Progressive, liberals DFL that are re-elected Minnesotans have suffered with the Education gaps, lack of affordable housing/ownership and equity. I plan to bring my experience and skills to make a better living in our communities for Minnesota.
